Yesterday. Went to Sebok's in Palos Verdes a couple days ago for the annual Greenstein barbeque. Well, I just made that name up, it was just a regular BBQ. I have to say that that area is amazing and beautiful and being in Los Angeles I at times forget that there are more visually pleasing areas close by. It rained so me and blogsicka couldn't play basketball anymore and I ended up in Joe's room with a bunch of peeps just playing rock band. Fun.

Yesterday I went out drinkin' with Trishelle and her friend and some other buddies met up with us in Hollywood as well. I had to play the tournament today so I ended up driving home at around 11:30pm. I had been drinking a bit but obviously I was in perfect condition to drive or would not have stepped near my vehicle. As I was driving the girls home I floored the car for about 3 seconds through a green light... a cop coming the other direction saw me and made a U turn and pulled us over. Fuck! At first I felt I was probably fucked, but when the cop got up to the window, I simply kept my cool and handled the situation perfectly. I talked like a smooth operator to the cop and ended up getting out of there scot-free(?). He actually recognized Trishelle from pulling her over a couple weeks previous, so maybe that helped me get away without a felony or something lol. Like poker and many other things, confidence goes a looong way in handling certain pressure situations. Poker News

Today. Today I was up bright and early and raring to go. My starting table had Mark Seif to my immediate left, Amir Vahedi to my immediate right, along with Bill Edler and a couple other familiar faces. The first half of the day went pretty well, I was having fun and playing hands well. One thing I really enjoy about main events besides the excitement in the air and the competition is merely the fact that everyone is in the same place at the same time. As I walk around Commerce I find myself stopping to conversate with someone every few seconds, I feel lucky that in the short time I've been involved with online poker I've become friends with so many diverse and interesting people. That part is very rewarding. After a table change and some small ups and downs I ended the day with 18,000. Not ideal, but I'm always happy to survive the day.

Tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll be back at Commerce, running my chips up and simultaneously making a run at my first WPT title. Discipline, focus, consistency, level-headedness.

After I win the title, I'll probably be headin' to Vegas to get away from this traffic infested smoghole. Lol I love L.A. and everything but in Vegas, I am truly free. After all, Vegas is my Mecca, the place that first saw all my hopes and dreams materialize into a real form. I'm in a bloggin sort of mood so look for like 8 of um this week. Later yalll
