What is nature? Nature is the original and underlying way of things. Look at the most common understanding of nature... the world around us. Everything that exists on Earth that has been untouched by man, we call nature. Why? Probably because we feel that this untouched nature around us is how things should be... somehow us as humans and what we create is not part of this natural world? We separate ourselves from everything else because we feel we are smarter or more evolved then our environment. This is true in the most straightforward sense, but is this necessarily good? It is if we build and grow with respect for nature, and also for one another... or else we might end up with nothing.

Now let's look at the nature of people. A person is born and grows up into who they are today. Along that path they eventually learned about their surroundings, and developed a natural way of being. Each person has certain beliefs, ideologies, and perceptions on different things in the world... and these things all stem from their original nature of being. Of course, people in a society will never show their true nature to anyone.. although the closer and more intimate two people get, the closer they will be to understanding the other's true nature. Only the individual can truly know their own nature.

How do people cover up their true nature? The same way that nature is covered up or destroyed in the real world; on Earth; by creating man-made obstructions or replacements. As humans we create obstacles in the way we act and react in order to hide our true way of being. This is probably because we are all often self-conscious, untrusting, or private with our own lives. In common society, this makes perfect sense and is probably better then a world in which there were no "secrets" or mysteries about others or yourself. This would be an uncivilized world. Poker News

In poker, we intend to hide ourselves from others even more then we already do, clearly because it goes along with the strategy of the game. Some players reverse their strategy and let their true nature out, particularly to manipulate opponents. How does this work? If you hide your true nature as much as possible, your opponent will be endlessly guessing what you might be hiding; what is underneath. This will often cause them to second-guess you and lead to them making mistakes when you want them to. If you intend to show your true nature at the table, your opponent will have little mystery into "how you are". Because you are acting through your original state as a person, your opponent will now have no choice but to second-guess their own nature.
