So I had a another birthday Sunday, turned 28 and god do I feel old. Like I know I'm not that old, but hanging around alot of 21-23 y/o poker players makes ya feel old. Not so sure I can or even should try to keep up with the drinking and partying like I used to. I decided to play the majors Sunday and cut off my tournaments earlier then usual to start drinking. I was out of everything by like 4 P.M. (combination of running awful/coolers/ and plain monkey tilt making me play bad). I was pretty much drunk by like 7 and think I finally went to bed about 6:30 AM. My friend Clay came over and took advantage of me (tho he was drunk to) and I lost about 900 to him playing Wii Bowling and pool. No worries, the summer is young and I'm sure I'll get it back and then some.

Countdown to WSOP is officially at 2 days! I'm excited for Friday's 1st event, the 10k pot-limit hold 'em. I don't neccessarilly feel I have a huge edge in PLHE, but it does cause me to play tighter because there are no antes, and I've been a little out of control lately so it's probably just what I need to find the happy medium for the series. Overall I think I'm planning to play about 30 events depending on what day 2's and 3's I make and what noon events I bust early in to play the 5 P.M. event.

So I'm hoping Thursday night the Rio ain't a madhouse, as the plan is to pick up my GF Val from the airport @ like 1 A.M. then head over to the Rio to register for the 10k PLHE and register for the 1.5k NLHE this weekend. Val's really excited to be playing a few events this year, I'll end up putting her in a couple of 1.5ks and the ladies event, and maybe more if things go well. For a long time she was doing good in online poker, making decent added money to her teaching job and having fun with poker. Then bad stuff started happening and she kept getting beat after getting it in good over and over so she up and decided to just quit poker. Well that lasted like 6 months and in the 3 months or so since she has come back she has been improving alot. I'm really proud of her and like her chances to try and make some noise this summer in the few events she'll be playing. Hopefully one of us brings home a bracelet =)
