After Sunday, both my body and mind were begging for a break. Poker wise, I was just mentally exhausted. It had been months since I had put any kind of long continuous session in online poker. Along the way I managed to win the FTOPS leaderboard and my own custom avatar, 1st place in the P5's singles contest, and 1st place in the P5's teams contest with the help of my teammates Mattg1983 and JCarver. I was telling everyone I was gonna take the whole week off, but Wednesday night I got that itch. Last minute I decided to play the 7 and 8 pms, and of the 6 poker tournaments I managed to final table 3 of them, winning one and taking home almost 60k. I then continued my break until today, and I plan on playing a full schedule. Not a bad month of August for me I'd say.

Last night I planned on getting a good night's sleep, but I'm kind of glad I didn't. I found myself still up at 1:30 A.M. so I figured I'd watch the U.S.A men's b-ball team in the gold medal game vs Spain. It was a far cry from the almost 40-point drubbing the U.S. handed down to Spain in the pre-lims and probably the most entertained I've been by a basketball game since the Jordan Era. It was cool watching how excited the team was after winning, just like all the amateurs who had won Gold previously at the Olympics. I don't remember ever seeing the "Dream-Team" look like this in the past after winning gold, perhaps because it was always just expected of them. It's amazing how a few losses can humble ya.
