Coast To Coast
Oh Canada! Team PokerRoad is headed up to the “Great White North” for the first stop on the new WPT Canada - the Coast To Coast Poker Championships!
The Coast To Coast Poker Championships is a series of seven tournaments taking place between May 5th and May 13th. The big daddy of the Championships, The Coast To Coast main event, will begin on May 9th, with the final table scheduled for May 11th. This $3,000 ($2,800+$200) buy-in tournament will feature stars like “Yukon” Brad Booth and PokerRoad’s own Gavin Smith, along with a slew of Internet poker players eager to take advantage of Canada’s significantly more liberal age requirements (players need only be nineteen years old to play).
The three-day main event features sixty-minute blind levels and players start with $15,000 in tournament chips. Play is set to begin at noon.
The Championships are being held in the River Rock Casino Resort in beautiful Richmond, B.C. Richmond is located just twenty minutes away from both downtown Vancouver and the US Border, and is a five-minute drive from Vancouver’s international airport.
The River Rock Casino Resort is a four-diamond rated resort with amenities that include a nine hundred and fifty seat theater, nine restaurants and bars, a deluxe spa, a pool, and even a water slide. The River Rock Casino itself not only houses Canada’s largest poker room, but also has over nine hundred slot machines, a race book, and a full pit with blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and craps.
The Coast To Coast Poker Championships main event has a five hundred and fifty player cap, and early registration is advised. If the main event hits its cap (which is very likely) the first prizewinner will take home over $375,000 (and that’s Canadian money we’re talking about, not that piddly US stuff).
