Live games I don't look for a profit/hour, I look at the quality hours I plan to play and put no thoughts into what I want to profit/hour, this will limit your play if you think of it this way.

it really depends on your style, experiences, your opponents, their/your luck, game (no limit or fixed limit?), your consitution ...
so its hard to to genaralize it.

my average winning = between 7 and 9 bbs/100 hands (nl50 - nl500, ~ 5.6 bbs/hour @onlinepoker)
and @fixed limit holdem = 3 bbs / 100 hands

Totally dependent on who your opponents are. If there were 9 of me at the table. Your profits per hour would be non-existent. Your losses would be huge. It would be a bloodbath.

If there was 9 of you at a table I think the rake would win

or in a casino because all of that is a total ripoff and we are idiots for even thinking about playing anywhere but home games with no rake.

I'm playing NL mostly 10 handed and my spread sheet calculates in big blinds per hour rather than big bets, I'm currently averaging about 16 big blinds, so I guess 8 big bets.

I've been happy with it and was going to start this very thread to see if I'm falling in the realm of reasonably good player yet. Glad to see I'm about on par. Of course I'm playing small stakes games so I wouldn't mind being able to beat them for a bit more, but I'm glad to have become a winning player at all.

I have to agree with the others, you have to take so many different things into account that it's not really useful to calculate a profit per hour. I can recommend reading though some poker sites to increase your knowledge about cash games and bets/profits. After some training I am sure you'll get more into it and won't think about these things too much anymore.
