An odd sort of beat...

I suppose G&S represents the PokerRoad equivalent to BBV, so here goes:

My car (along with four others) was broken into late Tuesday night while I was at the gym. The crooks smashed in the driver's window, took my wallet (with credit cards, DL, etc) and snatched my old G4 iPod.

So what does this have to do with PokerRoad?

Turns out, that iPod contained my last remaining copies of the CardPlayer: The Circuit episodes. The shows are no longer on iTunes, no longer archived on CardPlayer, and no longer on Joe Sebok's site. Furthermore, my files went when my external hard drive went kaput a year ago. So I have no real way of ever listening to those shows again. Funny how it's the stuff you CAN'T replace that is the most infuriating to lose.

Anyway, that's my bad beat story for the week... please continue with the usual poker-related beats and brags.

Wow, that sucks man. Hopefully someone like 99, Jon V, W2D can help replace them for you. As for not going to the gym... I go 6-9 times a week, but I walk there and only take my iPod in my pocket so don't have that problem.

Yeah, not my wisest choice. Usually I leave the wallet at home and chance it on the short drive to the gym. I had it this time because I meant to go fill up the tank after I was done. In retrospect, I could have just taken a credit card to do that, but one never anticipates such an incident.

Also, when I'm in a location such as this -- a darkened parking lot on the edge of town, near a freeway entrance -- I normally would lock such items in the glove box. But I guess I've gotten complacent from having gone to this gym for 10 years without incident. Never making that mistake again, that's for damn sure.

As for the iPod, it was my crappy old one that can't even hold a charge for longer than a half-hour. I used it solely as my car iPod. It contained only podcasts and maybe 1,000 songs or so. I won't miss it, other than for having the old Circuit and PokerWire episodes.
