im the worst at bankroll management... mostly due to tilt issues like moving up in stakes when i take a bad beats example:

i play $50 and $100 nl. i ran my roll up to 2k playing mostly $50 w/ a couple shots at $100 and decided to move to $100 nl w/ 20 buy-ins and move back to $50 if my roll got down to $1500. well i had a horrible couple days w/ two set over sets, aa vs kk - all the usual cold deck stories and lost my 5 buy-ins. so instead of moving back down i decided to play $1000 nl. I played roughly 50 hands, flopped 2 sets and had AA and won 1K.

It was pretty awesome.

Then in a HL hand against an unknown player, started with A 3 5 and could not hit another 8 or better card on the next four streets and called down like a monkey. which took my stack down to 350 or so. then were at 40/80 NLHE and im obv not rolled for that and didnt want to give Fricke a stroke so I quit. stared with 500 and ended up wiht 350, in just a few hands, anyways it was sort of a lark and since that 500 wasnt my rent money I guess it was worth the thrill.

It was kind of fun and I guess worth it allthough I admit it ws foolish given that my whole roll was on the table, I obv dont rate to do do well, and I didnt really have enougth to maximize a really good hand. I really wish I was rolled for this game and could sit for a while and maybe learn something, but its back to the .5/1 grind for me.
A cardinal rule of 8 or better is to never draw to a low hand heads up when
you have no strait of flush possibilities. joey41

As a enlisted scum in the Navy, I dont have a "real bankroll" but was able to grind $200 into $2000 over a year playing 50NL. I had a trip to Vegas and unloaded my account to play in Vegas. I told myself only 1/2 NL and maybe some 4/8 O8 (Im kind of and O8 junkie). I played for 3 days and never ran so bad, set over set, AA vrs KK in pre. Nothing seem to go right.

I walked in the Bellagio and told myself I was only playing O8 for the rest of the trip and asked them what games they had. The only game running was 30/60 in the "high stakes area" I asked if I could check it out and watching I was possesed by the Evil Gambling Goblin and somehow found myself pulliing out by remaining $1500 in my wallet and bought in.

The game was actually pretty live and I ended up a $400 winner in 45 minutes as the game broke. I am probably pretty lucky the game broke.

Biggest game I ever played in. If I went busto I would have been in Vegas for 2 more days broke as ****.
