wow I thought I was going to see 10-8, 10-9, J-9(probably wouldn't be here if he had that though). I am no high stake player but i think a raise is order a time or 2.

Two possibilities come to mind:
1. Cole had regularly barreled with air, so a raise would simply take him off such aggression. Of course, in this case he actually had a hand that could have paid off a raise. But Daniel didn't know that, and eight times out of nine, any raise would have ended the proceedings.
2. Daniel will soon be suspended and stricken of his red pro status for an account handoff to one Unicorn Lord of Fremont, Calif.
Ah, but seriously folks... how surprised would you be if you were Cole in this hand?

I have a feeling that Daniel's logic is that Cole will only call a reraise with a rivered straight or else he would have taken a different line. Therefore, he wanted to see Cole's cards and figured he wasn't really giving up a lot of value to do so.
Not that this turns out to be correct, but I've heard him explain similar situations in this manner before.

I think if you are turning top set into a bluff catcher on this board you are doing something wrong.

Yeah, Daniel clearly missed value here massively - not hard to see why that game only runs (according to Bonomo) when Daniel's sat in.
