If he calls your final bet on the river and you win, he was calling to beat a bluff. The only legitimate hand he could beat if he had Aces is top and bottom pair that got counterfeited when the six paired on the river. I think the real crux of the matter is how reliably the other guy has Aces for his preflop three-bet. Your slowplay is catering to that.
If he is a somewhat aggressive three-better then you might as well bet the turn to avoid giving him a freecard and to get value from smaller flushes. However, if you're confident he has Aces, then he is probably drawing dead and he won't put in any more money if you bet on the turn.
