Default str8 flush vs. ace high flush

As I was railing some highstakes online poker on FTP, the following hand occured (its HU btw):

*** TURN *** [Jc Tc 8c] [8d]
*** RIVER *** [Jc Tc 8c 8d] [Th]
MR B 2 U SON shows a flush, Ace high
Gus Hansen shows a straight flush, Queen high
Gus Hansen wins the pot ($241,990.50) with a straight flush, Queen high
MR B 2 U SON adds $50,000
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot $241,991 | Rake $0.50
Board: [Jc Tc 8c 8d Th]
Seat 1: Gus Hansen (big blind) showed [3s Js 9c Qc] and won ($241,990.50) with a straight flush, Queen high
Seat 2: MR B 2 U SON (small blind) showed [4c Ac 9s 3d] and lost with a flush, Ace high

In general, it just seems that DB has once again been cold decked, but still:
Is there any way you could get away from this hand or even lose less money? They were 120BB deep, so a lot of room to play. And in how far would it change your answer to my question, if this was a 6-max game?

I don't think stacks are deep enough in this spot to say the Ace high flush can fold. In most 6 max online games, I don't think I'm folding here.

Not only are the stacks not deep enough, but he's vs. Gus Hansen. From what I have heard he plays CRAZY in those HU PLO games.

I don't think that when you're playing against the best in the world you need to think about stack sizes more than meta-game considerations. I (David) would have been thinking more about what Gus thought I had.

against a super aggro very capable of using many gears gus hansen the A high flush draw is extremely strong. I mean it is a cooler and folding these kinds of hands to gus on a regular basis is going to lead to him bluffing a ton at you and forcing you to fold so many hands

I can't see myself folding. Gus is sure to have a flush, but the chances of him having exactly Q9 is so low it's unthinkable. Just have to stick this lose under "I got unlucky".

That's absolutely brutal. In no way is anyone ever folding to Gus there.
