Can we get a report from Bobby's Room?
I just read this on Doyle's Blog:
I hear they are playing incredible high limits at Bobby’s Room at the Bellagio. I’m going to check it out now that I’m back; but if what I hear is true, these guys have gone insane. I don’t feel like losing 4 or 5 million in one night!
-DB
Anyone have any details on this? The players, crazy hands or sessions, any kind of news for us; the other 99% on the rail?

I'd be kinda interested what they're playing where you can seriously lose 4 or 5 million in a night and who is sick enough to play (bar Ivey obv).

I think Daniel did a video with Amanda on WPT.com saying that the play in Bobby's Room is up to like 8k/16k and he said that is kind of dangerous b/c you can win/lose a million really quickly. Ivey is playing in those games and I was wondering if that will negatively affect him for ME final table. I mean, if you are playing that high stakes cash, where you can win a few million in a short order, will that screw you up playing the tournament and working hard to work your way up to be in contention for 1st place?

How big were the games during the WSOP? My understanding is that he was shuttling back and forth between the Main Event and the Bellagio during his entire run toward the November Nine final table. Remember: his previous all-nighter was what encouraged ESPN to choose Erick Lindgren's table for the televised table.
Anyway, the current games are certainly bigger, but the big cash action didn't appear to hamper his game in July, so it shouldn't be a detriment for his November performance.

Very cool interview. Joey41 mentioned earlier this year that Drache belongs in the Poker Hall of Fame, and I agree wholeheartedly.
If Barry Greenstein is inducted next year, I think I'll submit a nomination for Drache next year. I had no idea how wide and varied were some of his contributions to poker.

I think insane doesn't quite cover this, ~6 blinds and my housing would be paid off One hand were I'd be able to go over the top of a "standard" x3 PF raise, and win, well, kinda puts things in perspective for me
As for Phil Ivey playing, I think winning the ME is motivation enough to play and give it all the attention, I really doubt the money is anything but icing in any case.

I dont think Ivey cares about the money so much as the win, I would bet that his side bets rival what he would earn if he wins the ME. This is why Ivey isnt going to try and move up the ladder he is going to try and double up early and go for the win.
