As far as high-roller events go so few people play them and the prizes are so big that including a few of those could swing the competition one team's way. A horse could cash in one of those and outpreform a horse who'd had several decent cashes.

The NBC Heads-Up and WPT Celebrity Invitational were in. Aruba was not, although that was me doing so in protest of UB more than anything else. I also left out the high-roller events because we were basing our system on total dollars won rather than any sort of points system.
This time around, I'd like to use the same scoring system as the WSOP Player of the Year contest. Some of the concerns about that system (i.e. widely varying field sizes and buy-ins) wouldn't apply to our contest, so it seems like a reasonable way of doing things for this.
With Matt out of the country, I'll let people simmer on this before starting the "official" contest thread. But as of the moment, I have in mind the following:
1. WSOP Player of the Year points system, or at least a very similar variation of it. (I will spell this out in detail in the new thread.)
2. $25 buy-in. Payouts will depend on number of contestants, but this will also be spelled out. It will be pretty similar to a SNG payout.
3. Eight horses, reduced to five after the PCA main event concludes.
4. Schedule as listed above (including the agreed-upon adjustments).
Note: if I time this right, our official contest thread will be my 6,000th.
