One of my favorite sites for micro cash games is Victory Poker -- they have "changed networks" and joined Cake. How does that work? And what are "skins"?

My guess (an uneducated guess, at that) is that when I sign on to Victory and go to the lobby and select a table there might be someone from Cake sitting at the table as well only his screen will have the Cake "skin" while mine has the Victory Poker skin.

How does all this work? What do the networks share? Ect.

Big Dan

You are correct. Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet share the Cereus Gaming Network. The software that they both play on is the same and AP players play UB players. The only difference is that the tables, lobby, cards etc will say whichever site you joined up with. So you will (or should) still see your table and lobby the same as you did before. But, the player pool has increased because both sites have combined. Also, there should be any increase in tourneys, buy in level, etc.

Yeah, on cake you'll be playing against people from victory, cake, I believe Doyle's room is still on there, poker host I think is still there. Just combines the player pool so there's more action. You're much more likely to find a game at any stake any time of day.

I laugh when people try to convince me that the games on Absolute are easier than UB Only problem with skins is you can't sign up for two rooms on the same network. Think that probably means if you were on Victory Poker than you can't have a Cake Poker account now? Anyone know this for sure?

I have an account on AB and an account on UB. I wasn't being sneaky, I just signed up on both to look at them because they don't let you just look around unless you have an account. I deposited on UB and ignored AP. AP then gave me $10 to play. Which was nice, I got on a big rush and ran it up over $300 in like, a week or something. So now I have these two accounts. But I doubt I could sign onto them simultaneously, although I've never tried.
