No Money in 2012, Everyone's Indicted.
So whilst I have a brief period of poker before returning to the US, I thought I'd start a 2012 thread for entertaining hands we witness (when we're lucky enough to be playing poker).
This one was sweet, not because I got it in awesome (somehow his random junk was in good shape), but because he got punished for a random stackoff AND I got above even in a session where I'd fallen >5 buyins down (running about the same under EV all in).

the guy sitting to my left has a seat cushion, a pair of shades to put over his glasses and a hoodie. he has about 4 BB's left. i post small, he posts big
old guy who plays any two cards min raises from utg (he does this all the time with anything), his buddy a couple seats down min raises him and starts giggling. (this is the late game and they have had a few in them.) plus they literally have been playing cards together for years and will play anything verse the other.
bunch of folds, i fold, goes to mr seat cushion he shows me A K , he tells me he is going to wait for a better hand, and promptly folds away his big blind.

I don't intentionally tap the glass, but I don't think I could have held the laughter in.
It's like when a guy I play with (who actually knows a bit, wins at mid-stakes SnGs on Stars etc.) mucked AK from the SB in a live MTT vs. a guy shoving any two (for about 30% of his big stack).

ok, here is a hand i mauled.
final table, 4 peeps left. i am on the button and have the table covered by a lot. top 3 split 500 bucks.
small blind will literally limp himself out of a game waiting on a hand or a chance to steal. this was not his table tho. BB and me have been punishing limps and min raisers. we've only had to show down hands against each other. been like this for over an hour. think small blind had 2.5 blinds and open shoves. BB calls SB's jam after a few minutes o' think'n. UTG shoves over for like 5 blinds. i look down at T T and jam BB (who i have covered) calls.
win lose or draw, must learn to not burn money in 2012.

I'm not entirely sure what happened here 'cas it appears action started on the SB. However, assuming payouts are top 3 splitting money and 3rd has 5bbs, getting all the money in as chipleader w/ TT is correct. You can't go bust, you will almost always bust at least one player this way. The only way I don't do this is if the other 'big' stack and you actually have a s*** ton (like 100bbs each vs. 2.5 and 5). Perhaps just call the 5bb next time, but getting the money in here means you basically made profit. If you somehow came 4th (with shortest 1st, 3rd coming 2nd and 2nd just beating you) then bubbled, that's sickening, especially as the old baby stack only has 10bbs after this and former 3rd has 7.5.

Playing live 2/3 just before Christmas, I'm crusing on about six times the max buy in of $150 (yes stupid limit I know) when guy sits down on my left with $100.
I'm UTG+2 with JJ and raise to $15, he calls, SB calls.
Flop is T72 rainbow, I bet $25, he thinks for 5 seconds and shoves, SB folds, I call.
He turns over A8 off suit, loses the hand and quickly leaves the poker room.

2 tables of 8 left...
me and the older lady to my left are complaining about being card dead for over an hour, joking with each other. her and her husband play alot and run thier own game. he is sitting in mp. (absolutley hate playing poker with these two, but love thier company lol.) utg is mega tight at this table with this lineup, i think he is solid.
then thier is mp+1, the games resident maniac, atc's anytime.
i am sb, she is bb. blinds 500/1000, utg shuffles chips and calls. mp (bb's hubby) min raises very quickly and starts staring at his wife. mp +1 calls 2k, telling us he is pot committed etc. i look down at A A and raise to 6k about a fifth of my stack. she looks at me and raises to 12k about a third of her stack.
utg quickly shoves, before she even gets chips in he has his 16k in. hubby starts jawing to his wife "honey i like this hand, i have to play it, why did you do it to me". she's all smiles "pay to play honey and all that stuff". he calls 16k but is chipleader. mp+1 has about 22k and he calls 16k. "the pots to big to fold he says, all rubbing his hands and grinning". i shove, she snap calls me without blinking, she's all i am sorry. she says i finally got a good hand.
hubby groans for abit and calls.
flop
6 3 2
turn
8
river
J
she flips Q Q
utg flips A J
her hubby flips A K
utg +1 flips 6 8
