PokerStrategy Exclusive
News: Exclusive: Groupe Bernard Tapie Unable to Collect Owed Funds from Several Pros
Wasn't sure where else to talk about this, so I figured I'd start a thread. Hell, with Tyresias still posting in these forums, we could probably use it for any PokerStrategy or Rabbit Hunt questions and comments. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.
Matt, any sense why Barry Greenstein's name is mentioned in Dayanim's quote to PokerStrategy? I have never associated him with Full Tilt save for his friendship with Ivey. I'm surprised to see he's a debtor.

His name is mentioned in the article only because that's a direct quote lol, I was surprised as well. I never would name someone in that manner without having 100% proof of accuracy unless I could include it within an attributable quote.
Will keep an eye on this thread, but I can't promise I'll be too helpful =P.

They'd better pay me tho

Overall I disagree with Barry here as well, but to be fair, if we operate under the assumption that GBT doesn't really need the money to go through with the deal (which is probably true imo), then Barry's argument re: wanting his funds to go to US players becomes totally reasonable. After all, we KNOW that if GBT opens FTP for business, everyone outside of the US gets paid.

Sorry Ty but I kinda got to disagree. Saying that they don't need Barry's but close this deal is in IMO completely irrelevant. I have nothing but respect for Barry but tbh it's not any of his business , mine or anyone else's where this company chooses to allocate a legitimate debt it is owed. Obv I you are much more informed about this then me but from a pure business since I gotta side with them no matter what there future plans are.

Well actually I agree with you, I was just explaining the other side, which I don't think is unreasonable =P.
Also take into account that GBT doesn't own FTP yet. Barry owes FTP money, and may at some point technically owe it to GBT once they take over on all of those assets. Right now, it's far from a cut-and-dry situation though.
I think Barry and all of the others should be placing the funds in escrow pending a US player fund existing.

This seems like the obvious/best solution. Although I do not know how difficult this is to do from a business or legal standpoint.

I can hold the funds if we need a middleman.
