I disagree, its not an issue of semantics. We fundamentally disagree as to whether the video is relevant to an important matter. I think it is because Hamilton has not been brought to justice and or explained himself, and here he is living it up in a way few can afford. The video itself has caused a renewed interest in the matter, and that also makes it newsworthy. Anyways I respect your opinion just disagree.

I'm willing to live with this.

I respect your opinion as well, but I have a different definition of newsworthiness. In my view, Relevance ≠ Newsworthiness.

Is it relevant that Osama Bin Laden ordered the attacks on 9/11? Absolutely. Is it newsworthy today? Absolutely not
If raw vegas caught osama bin laden coming out of a golf club with layne flack and he didn't say anything it would be news worthy. But is this not the first time he has been caught on tape since the news broke.

Lets say Madoff went into hiding and no one say him. Now if channel 11 local news somewhere caught him buying fruit loops at the store and asked him a bunch of questions that he refused to answer you don't think that would be plastered all across the news? If you don't think it is news worthy you probably don't watch much television.

Again, I see a difference between being on the news and being newsworthy. Newsworthiness to me is when information is added to the story in a meaningful way.

Also, what makes it to TV news has changed a lot in the last 15-20 years with 24-hour news channels. They need to fill time constantly ... so they'll take whatever they can get, whether it's newsworthy or not.
