Australia to BAN All Poker Sites

All the traffic to/from your PC is from the anonymous proxy. As long as they don't ban the IP's of the many sites offerring this service, you can bypass any content filter. Where i work we subscribe to a list (not cheap) from a company that maintains a banned list of anonymous proxy sites.

The downside is that you need to trust this site as they cache (usually without any encryption) everything you do. i.e. entering a password or even worse, doing your banking via these sites is downright stupid.

Admittedly i didn't read this whole thread, but I did see it mentioned that if Australia was to pass this that people could access poker sites via proxy. The problem with that is that often times the site themselves block you from having an account if the site is banned in your country. Take Party Poker for example, as a US player I can not create an account on Party and if I had an existing account before they left the US market my account was closed. I would imagine the same would apply to Australian players.
