Default A few questions about the forums

OK, so I am unclear about a couple things...

First, I know this is not the correct place to post this but will there be an "About the Forum" forum here? Sorry to use the 2+2 lingo but I think a lot of people are familiar with it. For those that aren't, "About the Forum" is the forum that users go to to ask general questions about things like "how do I add an avatar?", "why was my porn website thread deleted from high stakes strategy?", etc. It ends up being quite a useful forum imo.

Second, will the strategy sections be broken down into Cash FR VS Cash 6 max VS Tournament Strategy, etc?

Anyway, if it is too early and the answer is, "all of these questions will be answered in due time, calm your ass down tuna there are only 26 members and 23 are mods," then that is fine, just tell me to shut up for a while.

Anyway, thanks, looking forward to a great new forum.

While I can't answer any of the question posed by Mr Tuna, I had a question myself. Will the two forums be merged at any time(if it's even possible)? It appears we have two separate forums, one at this address "pokerroad.com/forums" as linked on the top of each page. and "pokerroadforums.com" as linked in the news piece on the right hand side

Of course this isn't a complaint, just a curious question. I like that we have a place to discuss the shows now!

Default some answers

There weren't supposed to be two versions of the forums. Pokerroadforums.com was basically our beta test of the site and should now just be a redirect to the new address. We can't guarantee that stuff posted there will transfer over.

I'm not sure if we need an "about the forums" sub forum. I am waiting until we get a few thousand users from all of the other forums, and then I will ask people what they think we need. I like the slimmed down look of the choices we made, but we will certainly be swayed by any overwhelming consensus.

I also got a few questions.
First, and maybe im the only one experiencing this problem, but i just had to try 7 (!) times until i got the Security Code on the Registration-page right.
But ive got a Red-Green Color Deficiency so maybe its a lot easier for everybody else.
Secondly i think the design isnt really nice, are there going to be options to costumize it, are you going to change it since you just put the forum up or is this the final version?

Those security code things can be a headache, but you only have to go through that process once. I think these are put there to protect against computerized attacks on the site.

And the answer to the question of whether this is the final version: There is nothing final for anything we do. We'll always try to make things better, although we may be slow at getting around to it at times.

I like the look of the forum too but I think at the beginning stages of developing a new forum is when an "ATF" type sub-forum is needed most, if for no other reason than eliminating the need for mods to answer the same question repeatedly.

And after my spectacularly well thought out post about poker and politics too!

A huge loss to the PokerRoad world, I'm sure

OK, I have another question...Why is Jimmy Fricke's name red? Is he an administrator or will the red names be the way that the pros that are friends of the site are identified?

I am also curious as to why Gobbo's name is in red.
Also, could you please turn my name red so people will wonder who I am and why I also have a name in red.

Jimmy Fricke is not a moderator, our names are in green. He is the first of the many (hopefully) pros that will register with their own names and we needed a way to help distinguish them.
