The Poker Beat - October 29
I'm hoping Shecky PMs me what's planned for today's show, but some possibilities for the show, in no particular order:
WSOP Bracelet winner sues Harrah's and WSOP Academy
WPT Enterprises has a shareholder vote on Friday regarding the Peerless Media (PartyGaming company) bid for the World Poker Tour. If the shareholders approve, WPT Enterprises will change its name to Ante4, Inc and consist mostly of its $10+ million in cash.
Barney Frank, the PPA and others send Timothy Geitner a letter to delay the UIGEA.
Phil Ivey's human, folding the winning hand on this week's WSOP broadcast.
Thoughts on Phil Ivey making the cover of ESPN: The Magazine
Some of this, The Insider and Joe Stapleton making another "Tight Laydown" on this week's Poker Beat.

Adding in the notes from Caldwell:
a) discussion about trends in TV poker (ie. Kara Scott really the new HSP co-host?
b) The Wolfman's "analysis" of the WPT circuit, including discussion of the "study" itself.
c) poker "coaching" in line with the poll question on the PokerRoad front page.
Breifs will be WSOP Academy suit, Phil Ivey News, and a discussion of a particular story and whether it was an actual story (or even true)

I would like to hear their opinions on Darvin Moon turning down all the on line sites requests for representation.
John should know how much money is involved with the wearing of a patch. My limited knowledge puts wearing the patch between 25,000 and 60,000 I would be interested on hearing his expert opinion on this is. Or if he has any knowledge of Darvin changing his mind.

Darvin has said he would take sponsorship, but only if it didn't involve having to travel the world playing in tournaments to represent a site.

Thanks Lon, As I was watching Tuesday night EVERYONE at his table was patched but him. I had heard he wanted no part of wearing one and Honestly as much as I like the on line sites I probably wouldn't wear one either. However if Full Tilt approached me and asked, I would do it for them because they have supported my Charity the past three years with a ton of great stuff. I would even wear it for FREE..

Moon talked about it extensively on the ESPN Poker Edge Podcast. He said he didn't care about the money too much and would only do it if it was a one time deal, not wanting to get locked into having to play tourneys for the site for a year+. I'm pretty sure he will be wearing someone's patch for the FT, as a one/two day deal.

Along the lines of coaching for the Nov. 9. On NWP radio Adam Schoenfield says that Jeff Schulman has a bit of a team coaching him including Helmuth,Schoenfield, an unnamed high limit cash game reg from Commerce, even had Orel Hershiser come in to talk to Jeff about performing on the big stage and dealing with the pressure. He also mentioned that he heard one of the Nov 9 hired Jonathon Little to be his coach.

I'd think Little would be coaching Eric Buchman, but that's just speculation on my part.
