We certainly wouldn't have expected the WPT to be noteworthy enough for a full segment of a show recorded deep in the WSOP Main Event, but there is too much to discuss -- big changes to the show and Ivey's record ninth WPT final table are things we simply can't ignore.

Dan Michalski took care of hosting duties today, with Jessica Welman, Gary Wise, and myself comprising the panel. Some newsbriefs, followed with Main Event talk and the new changes on the World Poker Tour.
We were running tight on time, and didn't get much chance to discuss Phil Ivey. But I'm not sure much needs to be said -- he's already universally acclaimed as the greatest poker player in the world.

Sounds like we need a ustream of everyone whenever you host the show.
Nice job though, not nearly the dumpster fire it could have become.

You sure you really want this? I suggest you read the "July 8th" show thread, and my posts there. If you want my opinion, I will give it. I will be completely honest, good and bad, and I will back up my critiques with examples too. I'm willing to take the time to do this as a thank you overall for putting on a show (and it does take time and effort), but only if you really want it.
At this point, I'm more than willing to leave you guys alone, too.

I'm always looking to improve my game. (Just ask the others how buggy my occasional post-game analysis can be.) I did indeed read your post on last week's show. Agreed with you on some, but not all. Not sure when the next time I host will be ... maybe never! But I have listened closely and found some things I liked and things I didn't ... how 'bout you hold off til I do another couple episodes before giving the thorough hyper-critique?
I wouldn't want you to waste your time on the things I already know I would need to work on.
