I find this to be a strange comment coming from someone who participates in an online poker forum. If this industry is and always has been ridiculous, why are you participating?

And what part of this is evidence that poker is jumping the shark? That one of the top players has a past? Or that we're talking about it? How is this different from any other spectator sport (football, baseball, basketball, etc.)?

As for the original question, I don't think David Williams has ever addressed this issue publicly, though he is certainly aware of it. Clearly, he doesn't want to talk about it.

Alot of very normal, good people have sexual proclivities that others consider odd. I don't see it as a big deal. If you want proof just google foot fetish or pickle fetish, or chubby chaser, or food fetish or whatever, if you can think it up then someone out there is into it. When it comes to human sexuality, I draw the line at children, otherwise my attitude is do what you want. (and chickens, for gods sake leave those chickens alone)

But to directly answer your question, his motivations for sucking a toe or two, you have to ask physcologists who will invariably tell you that it has something to do with his childhood and relationship to his mother. IDK but the foot fetish deal is very common.

I think it had more to do with having no money and someone was willing to pay him to suck toes and toss salad on camera.
