Default The Poker Beat - April 9th at 1pm PT

Waiting for the Topics, but I think there should be a small discussion on the thread we have regarding getting rid of the Seventhbok jinx?

I love the PB and listen because these guys have the best opinions and thoughts on poker. I'm not really too interested in hearing their thoughts on whether a witch doctor or psychic would be better for breaking a curse. That said, I'm all for the curse breaking thing.

This.

They don't even have enough time to discuss real poker topics. I'm all for dedicating a how on PRR to it though, especially if Penn and Teller are involved.

Just had a thought. If you meant mentioning on the show as a way to help out or add some legitimacy it might not be the worst idea.

I liked your article. I think superstition would be a good topic sometime. Excellent topic actually. I bet there are some very interesting stories about superstitions that alot of people never get to hear about.

While I understand the sentiment Scott, have to agree with the above that breaking the Seventhbok curse isn't one of the top news stories of the week. I believe they're doing another 2 PRR shows tomorrow, so maybe it'll come up there.

However, even though I'm been off on possible topics, I'll still give it a go:

WPT Foxwoods recap (and why do the pros hate Foxwoods/Bellagio's attenance in decline)
Amarillo Slim breaks his silence (and other "poker pariahs", where people will say there's plenty of them, but beyond the usual suspects, won't reveal much)
Party Gaming paying off the US DOJ for $105m/Barney Frank introducing legislation to regulate Internet gaming after the Easter break
Justin Bonomo returning to PokerStars after being banned for 3+ years (thanks 99!)
This plus Joe Stapleton's "Tight Laydown" at 1pm Thursday, April 9.

Zee Justin being allowed to play on Pokerstars again.

I know Lon, superstitions are a big part of Poker though.

I know Dan is going to talk about pariahs for sure, over at Pokerati he has a thread about it already and our missing person, BJ is answering in it!

Amarillo Slim topic could take all program really ..I think I will call in if given the opportunity.

Have to talk about Foxwoods' I wonder if one of them will bring up the Tattoo issue? nah!

Party gaming bah humbug, Barney Frank...yes yes and yes.

Of Course always the stapes.....

Thanks Lon

There will be a link to listen to it live here-

http://www.pokerroad.com/radio/the-poker-beat/

usually right at the start of the show 1PM, or a few minutes before.
