I don't know that there's much more to say beyond that. I host poker shows for a living. This is a great opportunity that we're going to take it with open arms and try to grow the game as we always have.

So if you guys have any questions about the show, post them in here or any of the other spots where we're plugged it and we're happy to answer. No secrets.
I don't think you've kept the UB sponsorship a secret in any kind of shady way, but I heard you guys announce it on the Bluff online coverage of the WSOP and gee, no mention there. I just heard it was "UB presents" on the commercial that was posted on youtube. I think I was the first guy to mention the UB sponsorship on this thread, but I wouldn't call it secret, you just understandably didn't want to emphasize it.

I should say that I am conflicted about this show now. I really want to see guys like you, Stapes, and Seebs do well, but I HATE UB and thus, hate supporting anything that it has its hands in.

The reason the UB connection wasn't mentioned is because it's not a UB commercial. It's a news and entertainment show about poker first and foremost. It is being paid for by UB.net.

Would you be conflicted if I told you the show was a pitch that got picked up and FOX sold the rights to sponsor the show to UB?

Basically we are talent, presenting a poker show. If UB had sponsored the inside deal on ESPN there would be literally nothing the talent could do about it. The parent company makes the decisions. Anyway, I will never argue with anyone who has a problem with UB or them making money. It doesn't change the fact that we're going to put out a really entertaining show that promotes poker in a positive light week in and week out. We will also be the only show of this nature in the history of TV.

Everyone ought to stop talking about the show as if they're executive producers of the network and get final say on what airs or not.

The bottom line is that people are always going to talk about anything, and reach absurd conclusions about things based on minimal information.

None of us have a lot of information on the role UB is playing in this, so at the moment I'm going to assume it's minimal and not give a crap. If it turns into a UB commercial, THEN you can get ****ed off. But jumping to conclusions now?

Huff/Stapes/Seebs-
If the general population finds you guys as entertaining as I do, you'll be an enormous success. Turn a deaf ear to ridiculousness and do what you do best.

Theres still somethings in the Poker World to talk about. The new commish for the WSOP and what he can bring to the WSOP that Pollack could not.

There is actually a big tournament going on here at Commerce with very good numbers. The big names have stopped by to play a few. Joe Tehan Alan Weintraub, Jerry Buss Kenna James Frank Marianni Frankie Odell the whole Nguyen family except the "Master" John Phan,Mike Leah Nam Le's brothers and sister..etc...

The Main Event is Friday and it is a 2100.00 buy in so some bigger name players may stop by.

Bellagio Five Diamond is right around the corner and hopefully they are going to make it more enticing to the players to get some better numbers.

But with Stapes being a writer for this show, I can see a lot of humor being put in.

Also, will they be having guests on this show?

Believe me, I'm not defensive about this. I get it. I have championed for what is right in poker for a long time, and I understand people's concerns.

Be forewarned, there will be an element of UB pushing to the show, in as much as they are the TITLE SPONSOR OF THE SHOW. You watch inside deal, you get pokerstars hocked from time to time. There will be no difference here. However, our first goal is to put out an entertaining product for all of you that presents you with good information that is funny and entertaining.

My DVR is set to series record. Good luck, you've definitely put in the hours and deserve to make it. One problem you might have is the non-negligible portion of the target demographic who dislikes UB and may "boycott" the show out of UB spite (not that there's much you can control with respect to that).

People can listen/watch/read whatever they want. I appreciate the support of those people who understand our mission, and respect the decision of those who don't to not consume our content. I would argue that they ARE negligible portion of the demographic though. The big PR boycott that everyone cried for when Sebok signed with UB is basically non-existant. Our numbers are higher than ever.

I sure hope this is the case. The thing about PR though is that it hasn't (yet at least, and I'm sure will not) become a UB dominated site. People may respond differently when they have UB advertisements etc...thrown in their face. Anyway, I don't want to keep speculating on things that might go wrong, I don't want anything but good things for P2N!

I never said I was boycotting anything, just that this leaves a slightly bad taste in my mouth.
It does suck though, that you probably couldn't even try to have a reputable site like Full Tilt sponsor the show, because Seebs probably can't be on that b/c of his UB deal.
