PRR has understandably slowed down. They started off with a ton of content and the thing that most people here are overlooking is a good deal of their talent has been brought on to bigger things, Stapes is a good example. Is he supposed to travel 2 weeks a month to do PRR, do 2 jacks as well as doing the big game. Ali also had an oppertunity of Face the Ace would have taken off which is what got him away from PRR. Amanda is now working for WPT, Sebok is trying to work on UB's image.
I too miss the old days of the general hillarity back from 2008 and agree that things have never quite recovered post Shronk Era.
It does however, make sense for them to keep posting a reduced content until the UIGEA is over turned at which point, poker road becomes one of the top places for poker news, shows strategy etcetera to the new group of poker boomers.
Remember, a lot of people from the poker boom of 2003 have left poker because they've gone broke too many times. I played in tournaments at my local casino in 2005 and 2006 with 350 entries on a Wednesday night $30 buy-in tourney. That same tourney is actually seeing a big growth from it's low point of about 45 players last year to 120 players 2 weeks ago, still less than half of what it once was.
If on line poker is legal in the U.S. we'll have potentially a bigger boom than the first one with the 18-25 year olds who weren't old enough for the first one.
At this point, expect poker road and it's programing to be exciting again. Until then, we'll stick with some of the waiting period stuff that maybe isn't as energetic, but will keep things afloat for another year or so while this internet thing gets worked out. For me, I'll be enjoying what content comes up as long as Seebs and co continue to produce it and when the next boom happens, I'll have a few yers of poker experience and I'll cash in while listening to PRR.

Location of said 120 player fish feast?
I was going to avoid posting in this because it strikes a little of "OMG the sky is falling", but I will say this, podcasting by itself is not a big enough draw to keep a company viable. And when many of the people that made the show great are moving on with their careers, its definitely likely that the content is going to suffer.
That said, I think Barry and Joe are doing the best they can in order to keep things going. I'm sure they could have left if they wanted to but the fact they have stuck with it up to this point tells me that they are certainly in it for as long as they can manage.
I would hope that the regulation passes in some form soon, as it would certainly fuel a second poker boom, and if that's what needs to happen to pick Pokerroad back up on its feet, then all the better.

This site only needs one piece of content to become a major player in the industry.

I honestly feel that if Joe and Barry didnt care about us as "friends/family" this site would have been long gone. Im sure this site takes alot of time our of their livesand for not making money must really wane on them. For the people that say there no passion well come on. peoples energy and excitement isnt always going to like it is at the beginning. I truly believe if we want to get more traffic here we as need to spread the word in our area where we live. Might not help alot but it would help a little. Peace all ! I am curious how much the deals that pro's have with poker sites affects their ability to do random stuff with PRR. Not officially of course, but everyone knows there is official and then the *wink wink nudge nudge* on what you can and can't do.
I would definately like to see a return of small stakes grinders. Maybe just the show in name and have some of the more active players do the show.

A show called This Wink in Poker is not a bad idea, but I, too, would like to see The Life of Fricke.

This 120 player fish fest is at Viejas in San Diego.
btw if there's anything I can help with on getting a fun small stakes strat podcast up and running, I'm more than happy to do it. I don't have a ton of computer skill, but I am a good student and I usually have a lot of time. PM me if there's anything I can do. I love talking strategy.

guys, everything you are saying here is true. we love pokerroad. we want it to go on. it hasn't clocked money because of the current landscape. bear and i decided that we wanted to try and incubate it until that time comes, and so we have. NO ONE is as aware of the various states that pokerroad has been in over it's 3 year run as i am, trust me. i hate to see us having to cut content and scale things back due to money issues. it absolutely breaks my heart, because i know just how bad ass this site can be when it has some muscle and resources behind it. we truly have the best cast and fans in the business, and i know that...
the entire team has taken it on the chin to keep bringing some content during these times and they all understand the situation and want to be a part of things moving forward. we have the best team in the world and they all believe in the site, so they aren't going anywhere soon.
i have a million ideas for new pieces of content, but you're right, many of the team have had to go on to other things as a source of income as we have had to scale back. it's something that we dearly hope doesn't continue indefinitely, but we will hold on as long as it takes to get there. i dearly hope that you'll hold on with us.
everything changes with an influx of money comes into our industry. we know we are the most creative, with the most connections in the industry, so we'll be ready when that happens! this ride ain't over yet...
cheers,
J

I hope a lot of them involve becoming Poker Road TV instead of Radio.
