unbelievable eulogy BJ. Really gives us the sense of how your relationship with shronk was, and what shronk was all about. Still surreal though. This is beyond sad/crazy. You just dont expect these things to happen. As they say though, life does go on, shronk will be in poker road memories forever

If anybody doesn't know, Shronk had a second twitter page.

I found out about it from this message on his main twitter page.

@BetrThnWatULike - This guy has the best taste in ... well EVERYTHING!!

It seems like the guy was willing to share himself with anybody, you just had to ask.

FYI, for anyone who had contact with Shronk recently who is trying to see how the pieces fit together, keep in mind different time zones -- all of my times listed for Friday are Pacific Time, local to Las Vegas.

I had to compensate for the fact that my PokerRoad Forum settings have everything time-stamped in Eastern Time, because I live in Atlanta. At first glance, I thought the forum stuff happened 3 hours later than it did.

Default Thank's BJ

That was great to hear. I hadn't talked to Justin in a couple of months and this is all great to read.
I've known Justin since he was 16 and he never lost any of that energy. I once sat through an entire Philadelphia Eagles game in pouring rain in about 40 degree weather with him, the Eagles lost, and I had the time of my life. That's just one of the many things that can be said for and about him. It seems that many of you who met him later have the same feelings about him that everyone up here in the Philly area felt. I only knew one person that couldn't get along with him and that person had trouble getting along many. If you knew him for a minute or for years, he was easily remembered and he was hard to forget. He was an impact player in all he did.
His passing has left a void in many.

Darren

B.J., as I said to Huff in his post, thank you for those words. I hope they were healing for you -- I know I've done the same after the loss of a friend and loved one.

Darren, who has apparently known Shronk longer than anyone here (so much that the various nicknames he has on here must amuse you), I wish you the best as well. I never got to meet Justin -- the one time I got to spend a day with the PokerRoad crew, he wasn't there -- so I can only imagine the grief you and your friends are feeling.

Default A lesson to learn

Nicely done BJ.

This thread reminds me of the thoughts from poker players when Andy Glazer died. So often when someone disappears from our life we focus on them and forget what might be their final lesson to us. There are people still alive today you care for and enjoy being with. When did you speak to them last? When did you find the time to hang out and enjoy the pleasure of friendship?

Like so many in the poker media I have some Shronk stories but I want to thank him for his final reminder, I hope some of us heed it.

I've seen a lot of people (here at PokerRoad and elsewhere on the Net) talk about how they didn't really know Shronk, because they never met him in person.

I have news for you -- if you ever interacted with Shronk, whether it was by forum posts, AIM, email, or whatever, he would consider you a friend. He wasn't "working" when he did that stuff; he communicated with so many people because he enjoyed the virtual company of so many different people.

I think anyone who met him online and later had the pleasure of meeting him in person could vouch for this.

Well-said BJ. I'm certainly among those people who've interacted with Shronk online and he was a great dude who I'll miss, despite never having met him in person

I just took some time over my lunch break and re-read a bunch of his live blogs from the ESPN WSOP shows. Shronk had me cracking up again with his quirky humor and I'd recommend that as another way to cope while we have Shronk's untimely passing on our minds.
