I just listened to the full Shronk Tribute Episode for the first time tonight, and it took a lot out of me just to listen to it. Thankfully Ali and the other guys were professional enough to hold it together until the very end, because I clearly had a lot of trouble getting through my segment.

I noticed a few errors of mine, and feel compelled to correct them. I know it is extremely stupid to point out my own extremely minor errors in an episode like this, but I think Shronk would support this level of perfectionism.

1. I said Court had written an article about Shronk for PokerNews. I meant to say PocketFives.

2. When I mentioned that Owen Laukkanen was a poker reporter, I added: "like me and Shronk." I had meant to say "like me and Court." Shronk never did any actual tournament reporting, and used to tell me he just made up random chip counts when tourists asked him annoying questions. (Shronk was a video/radio producer, never a chip counter.)

3. There were several times that I said that Shronk loved everybody. That's not true; there were a lot of people that annoyed him. But I had a lot of trouble expressing myself properly that night, and what I meant to say is that Shronk had friends in the real world, and he had friends in the online world, and there wasn't always a large distinction between the two. If you interacted with him online, he didn't see that as necessarily less of a friendship or acquaintance than interacting with him in person. (That's not true for a lot of people.) Curiously, we rarely hung out together socially, because when we were in the same city we were usually working crazy long hours. So most of our non-working friendship was online and over the phone. But that didn't make it any less "real."

Finally, a big thanks to Ali, Seebs, Court, and Huff for letting me be a part of this episode. I wasn't able to make it to Shronk's funeral, but recording this episode in the Bellagio's Fontana Lounge filled that emotional need for me.

Even though I may never listen to it again (not sure if I can handle it), I don't think I'll ever take this episode off my iPhone.
