Rakeback with existing accounts
I was wondering, is it possible to start getting rakeback when you already have an account at FT and PS? Only seems to be available when signing up.

do you put decent volume in on FTP? and how much do you have on there? if the answer is both are decent then send an email to ftp and say your leaving the site unless you can get rakeback. see what happens. it has happened b4, but your odds go up if you have $$

Don't have much more than $50 on FT (just added money first time ever about 2 weeks ago), can't remember Stars exactly, but not above $1k.
Reason I wondered was looking at my FT numbers, where I've paid $26 in rake, and having just above $50, it's easy to see getting some of that back will make a big difference.

ist more about if it is worth it to FTP to give you rakeback based off future earnings of rake that they wouldnt get if you leave. idk if $50 is enough. try emailing them anyways and see. you never know.
and no RB on stars, but play a sh*t ton and get supernova and you will pwn ftp rakeback.

Thanks, I'll sign up for rakebackpros and see if they'll offer it to me. About stars, with the amount I play I'd not get above gold within reason (a year goal was silver, still far from it!), so have just accumulated some points over time, maybe I should just get Barry's book
I'm a periodic player, if I think I'm doing badly, I'll just stop for a while, last time over six months, but usually just a month, so keeping up even silver status would require me not tilting out for a while. With a healthy temper, I don't see that happening unless I get a lucky streak.
Hopefully my very active period after first FT deposit will sway them.

^^This.
This was how I got rakeback on FTP. I tried twice prior to get rakeback on FTP by requesting it through rakebackpros and once throught the nice folks that handle rakeback for Poker Road, both were declined.
So I played a year of micros w/o rakeback, worked my bankroll up to about X5 my first deposit. I then emailed FTP directly, saying while I enjoyed playing on FTP I was at a point where rakeback was serious consideration for me. I would prefer to stay and continue to play on FTP but was willing to cash out and join another site who would give me rakeback for setting up a new account.
A few days later they put me in contact with rakebackpros and rakeback was mine.
GL, it's a tough fight to get it on an existing account. Bottom line, put in some volume at FTP, prove you play there regularly, send them a nicely worded email saying you'd like rakeback or you'll head some place where you can get it.

Apparently it's "decent" with a recent first deposit and about 2k hands played, but have had the account for I guess 2 years. Rakebackpros accepted me, and they give 27% which actually influences my bb/100 very well. Thanks for the tips
Maybe they've softened up since you guys tried?

Just to be clear, its very, very difficult to get rakeback on an existing account. You can always try and apply for a retag request on Full Tilt through PokerRoad by going here:
Support Form
We will then get in touch with the Poker Room and then email you as soon as we hear back from them. Like I said though, with existing accounts its very unlikely that you would be retagged on Full Tilt.
Emailing Full Tilt and saying you will pull your money from their site will likely not have any influence on whether or not you are approved for rakeback. The reality of the matter is that with Full Tilt being one of the largest sites in the world, a large proportion of the players that threaten to leave and go elsewhere end up never leaving or returning anyway due to number of tournaments and cash games that they offer. If you cannot be approved for rakeback with us, your best shot would be to simply email Full Tilt support and ask about rakeback with RakebackPros, explain that you would greatly benefit from the added value and would be given much more incentive to play. RakebackPros is a part of Full Tilt Poker, so they often accept players that cannot be linked to other affiliates, like PokerRoad.
As for PokerStars, they do not do any sort of retags, with no exceptions. Its worth pointing out though that they do not offer rakeback, but their lucrative VIP program for all players. Players who register through an affiliate, like PokerRoad, may be eligible for future freerolls and other promotions, but the standard rake benefits from the VIP program remain the same.
Feel free to respond or pm me if you have any additional questions regarding rakeback!
Nick

I stopped playing for a few months and moved to Stars. Eventually on a whim I sent them an email saying that, and likewise that I'd return if I got rakeback. They gave it to me. The key is definitely being persistent.
