50k hu tourny interest thread

There was a 2p2 hsnl forum tourny the last two years, i believe 2500 and 5k buyin. Structure being 300bb deep, best of 3 matches, no escalating blinds.

This year i'd like to try to set up a 50k buyin, 300bb deep, best of 3 or 5 matches, no escalating blinds. Also the tourny would take place over a few (say 2-3) months, so that it isnt 1day of way too much poker, but instead a few days of a few hours of interesting poker. HU-nl, online. Post interest/thoughts here or in 2p2 thread. I feel like we could get 16ppl pretty easily, and maybe 32ppl. Itd be pretty awesome.

Where would it be played? You can't expect sponsored players to play this on a different poker site than they are sponsored on.

idk, hopefully we can gauge interest and then figure it out. In the past they were played on stars.

I'd play, but I'm not so hot on the 2-3 month thing. I also think that if you want more players you have to change the structure a little bit as it will be very hard for inferior opponents to win a set of 3/5 300bb no escalating blinds. Make it best 2 out of 3 with 200bb stacks and you would have a much better tournament. Sure it might not tell you who the best player is, but since when has tournament poker been about that? As it stands, you would probably get less than 10 players. I'll play anywhere from $10k-$50k and I'll also play PLO.

edit: If it could be organized I'd also be up for playing some 9 or 10 handed $10k-$50k "sit n gos"

200bb deep, best of 3, think thats good? Also i feel like its best if it takes like 4-6weeks b/c then people arent rushed to play their matches

Easy enough solution: stars guys in 1bracket, ftp in other, other un-affiliated ppl are in both brackets (and some cflip of some sort to figure out which one)

I think there are 4 PokerStars guys who may play (Daniel, Elky, Dario, and me, although Victor Ramdin may play if he knows he's in your bracket (I couldn't help it!)) but there are at least 15 Full Tilt guys, so all the unaffiliated would be in the Stars bracket.

The problem is whether either site (probably Stars) will object to us playing in a joint project. If this thing gets legs, I'll check it out with the big kahuna.
