Note about this forum
Although this forum is restricted, all opening posts will be copied to the Shadow Forum to Red Pro Discussion so that everyone can express themselves there. In addition, I expect hands discussed here will get mentioned in other Poker Discussion Forums and Strategy Forums. There will surely be occasions where a play will be applicable for one play level, but not for another.
I apologize to players who feel slighted that they aren't allowed to post in this forum. I'm sure there are many good players whose opinions are more valid than some of the posters here. I will invite players to be red pros if they have a good tournament resume or consistently good results in cash games where normal wins are more than $10,000.
I expect this forum will have a higher level of discussion than can be found at any other forum community, because I think we will be able to attract the good young players and I can badger some of the old guard into helping us out.
I have noticed that the level of discussion doesn't generally get much above what I would call "Intermediate Level" in the other poker forum groups. One reason is the noise level is too high which makes it hard to wade through to get to any good stuff, and it seems pointless to post things that will go over the head of many of the people in the debate. Another reason is that players who play well and are also good at presenting their thoughts frequently end up joining poker instruction sites, and they save their good ideas for their videos and blogs. Also, if you are a good player and you really tell what your thought process is and what your cutoffs are for your ranges in certain situations, you will make it easier for opponents to play against you.
In return for giving up specific information that can probably used against them, we hope this forum helps our red pros become more marketable. We will encourage our red pros to have links to their pet projects in their "signatures," whereas that would be considered illegal spamming in other forum communities.
