I think this would be really really bad. If we 3 bet and he 4 bets his most likely hand is a flopped flush and we'll have more than the right price to draw for a 4 outer on the river. If he doesn't 4 bet we are probably around a flip against his hand range and going to have a tough time on spade and board pairing rivers (well I guess the latter is easy we just check/fold). I think calling and checking river is the only play and then there are some options such as putting in a thin river CR, or possibly if I have a misread on JC making a tight fold if he doesn't FSDR.

This is why I am not a limit holdem player. I have such ridiculous fps it's amazing. It's not like I would be able to fold once I 3bet and he raised me anyway.

Also, to the guy who said he would rather play Johnny Chan than Terrance Chan - Wow! It is Johnny ****ing Chan, and you are calling his raises with 9 2- you deserve to get crushed which is where I would say you are at. Your best case scenario is that he has A of spades only and still you aren't a huge favorite. Every other plausible scenario has him crushing you, in half of those scenarios you are drawing dead.
P.S. I am highly confident he held AA with ace of spades or A 10 with ace of spades - possibly a set of tens, when you
post his actual holdings (if you post them) I shall do a victory dance and win a small wager with my girlfriend.

This leads me to believe you called and he didn't catch his spade?
also the play he makes with this hand is a play he describes in his book.

aweful preflop call, i'll say first, but if they checked, you can probably rule out a 10 in JC's hand, unless he's trying to trap with 10s. but then the turn bet makes no sense.
Raising doesn't seem very good here either is jonny has an ace-paint, he's going to call your reraise. Ace-x he's either calling or folding.
honestly don't know what I'd here.
probably call and hope JC doesn't get paint.

this hand brings up an interesting point, and that is when to accept that a player has a set in limit. In no limit, its always on your mind because your whole roll is on the table. In, limit, two pair takes down pot after pot, and sometimes its hard to put someone on a set and fold, usually you shouldnt given the pot odds. I would have played this hand fast and lost a lot of money, esp if a spade didnt come on the river. BUT with two pair I uusally play it so fast on the flop and turn, that the playing back allows me to determine Im most likely beat, at which point I check it down. usually though, when someone shows me a set and I have two pair, I sort of feel like, 'duh, of course, why didnt I think of that'

Hernan you got super unlucky in this hand, I would assume he is raising any blank turn and he just happened to bink the ace.
