Default Losing my love for HSP

One of the reasons why I used to love HSP was that originally it was just guys playing poker, no patches, no stupid sponsored segments just poker.

Now this year since Pokerstars seems to have purchased the show, they aren't letting FTP players in, so that means no Durrr, Ivey etc. It pretty much seems like is has turned into a giant pokerstars commercial and that honestly makes me sad.

I guess you can blame FTP for starting the war when they bought Poker After Dark leading to Pokerstars players being banned from playing there.

I dont disagree with you, however PAD has always been a FTP sponsored program as where HSP hasn't been a site sponsored show until last year when PS started sponsoring it. And that is what I loved about it, I personally dont like to watch poker players dressed up like NASCAR drivers.

I don't MIND this across the board, but in this specific case (and the other points you made) it takes away from the things I really loved about the show. I guess the only way I can describe it was the show seemed pure before... and now no longer.

I agree on the patches its a big reason I watch the Espn final tables one and done. I also agree that I'd like to see the top players from all the sites playing on what I think is the best poker show on t.v..

The good thing I see from this is the great unknown players or highrollers getting more time at the table with less known players getting spots.

I know I got wishi washi with that second part I always thought the show need to be longer to get more players at the table than the same player with one or two different people coming in as fillins

The irony of it all is that High Stakes Poker's audience would seem to be the least susceptible to the lure of patched players. I would be shocked if more than five percent of the audience were those who would be interested in playing online, but weren't already.

Totally agree with 6th, a tiny percentage of the HSP audience would not have an online poker account or three.
