I'm 50/50 on Norm. I like the loose feel and the jokes but he's "over-announcing" a bit. This isn't radio: he doesn't need to narrate every action. Also, some of his strategy talk is outdated (e.g. "Klein thinks Viffer might have KQ. He'll raise to find out") or flat-out wrong (e.g. thinking Barry raised a hand with showdown value because he throught the river bet was a bluff).

However, if MacDonald evolves into a role more similar to Ali Nejad on PAD -- allowing the plays (and players) speak for themselves, while continuing to harvest the comedic chestnuts -- this season will be a lot of fun.

Oh, and my favorite line so far: "Doyle's thinking, 'When did they allow women to start playing poker?'" I ell oh elled.

Norm is definitely going to be funnier than Gabe. But, I thought the same thing as far as over-announcing. We don't need to be told every action and reaction, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE PLAYERS ARE TALKING. Why is Ali the only person who gets this?

6th I def agree with the over announcing comment. However gabe really wasn't ever doing a great job in his analysis either. He loved the bet to find out where he's at line aswell when in truth players like lex v. Dont really put in 40k with a pair of 2s looking for a read. My only complaint tbh so far us the microphones seem to be super close to the chips and the chip rattling is so loud!!!. Norm is gonna be great the player lineup is for sure disappointing but fingers crossed it should be ok.

Will give once I've watched - have been reading some stuff for an essay and will probs be done in about an hour. Saw the first hand (Vanessa's bluff) on the GSN website and it seemed like it'll be semi-decent.

I totally agree...................it was unnerving to listen to the chips rattle. And, i typically love the sound of chips!! But these chips were making a very weird screeching and cackling noise that was just annoying.
