One of my recurring compliments, usually when referring to someone's cooking or creative effort, is "this really is very, very, very good what you've done here." I had heard it in a movie or TV show and it just stuck. It wasn't a punch line to a bit or anything, just something of which I liked the delivery.
Problem is, I couldn't remember where I got it. Not that it haunted me the way some things can, but for the life of me I couldn't place it. Oddly, I discovered years later that it was from an episode of Mad About You, a show I almost never watched. The Paul Reiser character said it to some kid who invented a virtual reality machine (which enabled the character to take part in a fantasy sequence with Christie Brinkley, which is probably why I saw it at all).
Anyway, that episode aired in 1994. I solved this little mystery more than 10 years later, completely by happenstance.
