Default Two Jacks Forum Rounders...

Two Jacks Nation...

We've all been loyally posting here since the forums opened in September but it seems we've never really introduced one another to ourselves. So hopefully without seeming creepy, I'll go ahead and introduce myself to the TJN and if you want to as well please do.

I'm Chris, 25, I've been a loyal listener since the original eight episodes between the cardplayer show and pokerwire and haven't missed a week since it restarted on PR.com. I recently moved from England, where I lived with my family for the past five years. I currently live in a ****ty town in west Texas called San Angelo were I am stationed with the Air Force. For lack of a better term, I'm essentially a teacher in a classroom setting. My studens mostly comprise of newly enlisted Air Force members, I teach IT and communications. I'm married with three year old and twin one year olds, all girls.

Thats me in a nutshell, what about you?

I'm in.

Mark, 37, got into Two Jacks relatively late (right around January 2008). I work in media relations for UC Davis Athletics (you can hear about one of my crazy work-related dreams in a previous TJITH episode). The words "media" and "relations" are fairly inaccurate to what I actually do. I write press releases, most of the media guides, contribute the occasional feature story for our campus publications, keep in-game stats for about half our teams, serve as an unofficial historian for the department.

I probably work an average of 70 hours, but it's hard to complain when the job sometimes has me spending the weekend on the pool deck for the conference women's water polo tourney, or courtside at ARCO Arena for a little March Madness action.

I'm in.

I'm Jesse, I'm 37, and a CPA in New Jersey. I work for a 35 member CPA firm in Northern NJ and an Auditing Supervisor. I also do individual tax preparation as a side practice. I've been married for almost 11 years and have a 5 year old daughter.

I've been listening to TJITH since roughly Jan 2008.

Why not...

Well, I'm Joe Dub of course, and 21 (22 on June 22nd) years old. My real last is really Wurtz, but I've gone by 'Dub' ever since the beginning of high school. I've been listening to the Two Jacks ever since the original 7 episodes back in 2006, when they were done straight out of Huff's apartment or wherever. I heard about the Jacks when I had sent Huff a MySpace message saying how much I liked The Circuit, and he told me about a new show they were starting up, that would become none other than the Two Jacks.

I am currently a senior at Texas Christian University where I am a Film-Television-Digital Media and English double major, with a minor in Ad-PR. This is my last year at TCU; I can't believe how fast this is going. Afterwards, still not sure what I'll do. There are 4 options though: 1) Go to grad school for the production side of film 2) Go to law school and study the business side of the film industry (I've become increasingly interested in this; UCLA might be cool for this), 3) Graduate TCU and move out to LA a few months later, get a place, send out my resume, apply for jobs, make ends meet, and work my way up, or 4) Do whatever I want after school; really live. Travel the world, play poker all around, make my own films, etc.

I feel like I'm writing too much here, but if I didn't write all I am, people still wouldn't know what makes me me, or know who I am. As anyone who listens to the Two Jacks knows, I have dealt with a sh*tload of health problems, and have been through more than I'm sure most people have. I've been going through this rough crap since I was 11, and have been through everything and anything, so this is something I'm not modest about. I've had it rough, sure. But it has made me a much stronger person overall and made me the person I am today. Sounds cliche, but all I've gone through, as much hells as it's been, has done me a lot of good.

On a lighter note, in my free time I like to play pokah, tennis, and golf. I also love to make movies. Movies ARE my life, and there's no doubt about that. I can play the guitar rather well, and thus am no guitar douche bag. I like to be entertained. That being said, at times I stir sh*t up to make things more interesting, but it's always in good fun, even though it might not always seem like it at the time. And I'm usually NOT the one behind the schemes and controversies that Huff and Stapes and other fans claim I am. It's all part of the show, and I'm cool with that.

But that's all. I feel like I'm writing an autobiography. Congrats, if you even got this far. Power to the Two Jacks Nation!

31 years old, name is Joe...I am an Application Development senior manager at a well-known market research company in the Conejo Valley (northern suburbs of Los Angeles). I grew up in the suburbs of San Jose in the Bay Area. My father taught me to my numbers at a very young age by playing poker (5 card draw) and cribbage with a sprinkling of contract bridge as I got a little older. In junior high, i began playing Chinese Poker with all my Asian friends (i am a white, irish-jew) and saw thousands of dollars change hands regularly in the underground home games throughout the south bay during high school. I have a degree in Spanish from San Francisco State, but that was because it was an easy subject and my classes were composed of about 80% latina females

Been listening to 2 jacks occasionally since January 2008 and religiously since the Summer of 08. As the WSOP PRR content petered out and the death of BPS, i had some serious poker road jonesing. 2 Jacks helped fill that gap. I admit that i am not among the major contributor's (if there is a rhode island in the 2 jacks nation, that's where i would be living), but you will find me complaining on a semi-regular basis in the Ustream chat about the volume (i listen on a laptop with no external speaker setup ) That is if i am not working at the time...if i am connected through VPN to my work, ustream chat does not work

I think i have rambled enough...

Todd "Steak" Jones in the hiz-ouse. I am 35 years old, will celebrate my 10th anniversary this October, and I have a 7 year old son and 4 year old daughter. I live just outside of Atlanta. I got hooked on the original Two Jacks incarnation back in the day, and was one of the ones anxioulsy checking pokerroad.com every day to see when the first Two Jacks show on here would start. I have the distinction of having the third ever email read on the show (after Barry Greenstein and Samantha Johnson) in one of the most disturbing segments ever ("Scott and Joe Watch Each Other Masturbate").

I have worked in the pharmaceuticals industry for almost 12 years, almost exclusively in the contracting department for the clinical trials part of the industry. I am the guy trying to keep doctors from ripping us off, so in turn we don't have to charge as much when we start selling the drug on the market. You ever wonder why drugs cost so much? Ask your friendly neighborhood investigative doctor why they need to charge $50 every time they weigh you, measure your height and take your blood pressure? Because believe me, if it were not for me, they would get paid that much. I fight the fight because it truly ****es me off. But am I only 1 man

When I am not beating down some pharmaceutical ass, I like to play recreational poker and hang out with the family. Those of you with children know - 7 year old + 4 year old = chaos. But it usually is good chaos, and I feel I am truly a blessed person.

Sup.

Eddie, 28, Brooklyn, NY.

Currently unemployed. Most recently a Marketing Coordinator for a web design firm in NYC. Trying to grind online P to make ends meet while i look for a "real" job, don't see P as a primary source of income in my future.

Been a TJITH fan since the first week as I have stated in my post here: http://www.pokerroad.com/forums/show...1699#post71699

Called in once to play the hotel movie trivia game vs. Joe Dub and beat him due to his cheating for looking at the live chat. Never did get my t-shirt or bumper stickers though.

Took it upon my self to add the Two Jacks definition of 'Morlock' to the Morlock wikipedia page located here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morlock...ks_in_the_Hole

Orthodox Sephardic Jew. Not Hasidic. No, I don't wear those hats or grow those curly-qs of hair near my ears. I do keep the Sabbath and eat kosher to a certain extent.

Love movies, TV, sports, pretty much most of what you would think a 28 year old straight single guy would like.

Jared/23/State College, Pennsylvania.

I'm a graduate student in structural engineering at Penn State, just finished my first year. I'm researching the stability of elastomeric seismic isolation bearings (like most engineering jargon, it sounds a lot more technical than necessary). Will graduate in another year, may stay for a Ph.D, may enter industry (leaning toward the latter, but we'll see, gl economy).

Started playing poker around 9th or 10th grade in local underground games, soon after I decided to stop grinding and start dealing in said games. Seemingly like a disproportionate amount of others, I too am a Jew (Bar-Mitzvahed and confirmed, etc.. etc..). I'm somewhere in between reformed and conservative at this point I'd say, I have become significantly less religious after entering college and becoming more involved in engineering (have also played significantly less poker, excluding my freshman year).

Have been a fan of Huff's work since the first episode of the circuit. I don't think I got into TJITH until sometime around pokerwire radio era when I heard some archived shows, hooked ever since.

Allow myself to introduce... myself.

Scott, 26 (Had to check my DL), Kentucky

I hate to start any description about myself with my job, but it's my life right now. I'm an IT Manager for my city government. I get paid 40 hours a week to work 60, and during that period, Two Jacks is on the air, so I don't get to listen live like I used to.

Started playing online poker not long after I turned 18, and have had my ups and downs along the way but still love the game when I find time to play. Just made my first trip to Vegas this week, and loved it.

I've always been a competitive freak and have played almost every CCG under the sun competitively since I was 14 or 15. I've won city and state competitions and was ranked #1 nationally for Warhammer for a year or so before I found poker. For sports I generally stick to tennis and two hand touch football. I played tennis as the #1 seed for my high school and made it to the state regional tournament in my Junior year, but a pair of knee injuries kept me out my Senior year.

"I don't drink, I don't do drugs, my only addiction is competition."

Started listening to Two Jacks and other PokerRoad shows at the beginning, and never listened to any previous version of the shows.

I used to run my own online poker news site that's been through a few names, and did some writing for a few sites online (comedy and news), but since the start of 2009, I haven't done anything in either, and have since shut down my site.
