Day Two Of The WPT Championship
April 21, 2022

The 338 person starting field of the World Poker Tour $25,00 World Championship has been effectively cut in half, as were now down to 168 people still in contention for a first prize worth $2,143,655.  In most tournaments you could easily reach this point in the first day, but given the generous 100,000 chip starting stacks of this WPT signature event, it took us two full days of intense tournament play to get this far.

Of the 134 players that were eliminated during Day Two's play, nearly all were well known poker pros including many from the PokerRoad family, some of the big names eliminated thus far include Gavin Smith, Erick Lindgren, Vanessa Rousso, John Phan, Kristy Gazes, Ted Forrest, Sorel Mizzi, Adam Junglen and "The Bear" Barry Greenstein.

Players who survived the tough day, where nearly every table was packed with tournament pros include Phil Ivey, Layne Flack, Kathy Liebert, Mimi Tran, Jeff Madsen, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Jimmy Fricke, Johnny Chan, Daniel Negreanu and PokerRoad's CEO Joseph Sebok, who's still in the hunt with a better than average chip stack and a real shot at yet another deep WPT cash this season.

Day Three of the WPT Championship begins again at noon in the beautiful Bellagio Fontana Lounge, to get in depth coverage of all the action visit www.worldpokertour.com, for live updates, chip counts and on the scene videos starring PokerRoad's own Amanda Leatherman.
