California State Poker Championship Starts Tomorrow

The final event of Commerce Casino's California State Poker Championship, a $5,100 buy-in, No Limit Hold 'em tourney kicks off tomorrow in Los Angeles, the last major live American event before the start of the 2009 World Series of Poker.

This year's California State Poker Championship has a $1,000,000 guarantee and is being overseen by tournament director extraordinaire Matt Savage.  The three-day event will start players off with 15,000 in tournament chips, blinds at 25/50 and 60 minute levels which will run all the way till the final table.

Past winners of the California State Poker Championship include Hieu Ngoc Ma, Chip Jett, Lance Allred and Armageddon's Ben Affleck, who took down the event in 2004 for a $356,400 cash.
