WASSUP '09: Kabbaj Puts The Kibosh On Kirill In Event #45
June 26, 2021

London's John Kabbaj, took down Event #45 of the World Series of Poker Thursday, earning an impressive top prize worth $633,335, the biggest cash of his tournament career.

Kabbaj outlasted 274 other players in the $10,000 buy-in Pot-Limit Hold 'em event, including a surprisingly tough final table that held among others Kirill Gerasimov, Davidi Kitai, J.C. Alvarado, Eric Baldwin, Isaac Haxton and PokerRoad's Eugene Todd "Bro," who was sadly only able to hang on long enough to take the seventh place cash.

John's final opponent was the much feared Russian, Kirill Gerasimov, who has yet to earn his first bracelet but does already have over $2,000,000 in tournament cashes.  For this second place cash Kirill earned $391,369.

Especially brutal, this was Kirill's third runner-up cash at the World Series of Poker.

The final table finish positions for Event #45- the $10,000 buy-in Pot-Limit Hold 'em, were as follows:

1st.  John Kabbaj- $633,335
