Dream Team Poker, Rio Final Results
July 15, 2021

The most recent Dream Team Poker Event during this year's World Series of Poker would without a doubt have to be considered a success, especially when looking at all the smiling faces that once again resulted despite the tough competition.

366 players signed up for this third Dream Team Poker event, each not only playing for themselves and a first prize worth $16,473 but also for their team, a wrinkle that added both fun and pressure as no one wants to be the one to let their comrades down, regardless of the relatively low buy-in of $500 + $60.

The team that fared the best throughout the two-day event was Team Tao of Pokerati, with both Dr. Pauly McGuire and "The Wolfman" Dan Michalski lasting well into the top 20.  Despite neither of these frequent Poker Beat contributers making it into the top ten, their combined deep finishes (17th and 13th) allowed them to earn the DTP top team prize of $33,017.

The individual winner of the day was poker pro Kenna James of Team Poker Host, who earned that top prize after finally eliminating amateur player Judy Tejwani (Team SOCRR) during heads-up play.  For the runner-up finish Judy scored $7,810

The "top five" team final results for the WSOP Dream Team Poker event were as follows:
