During the upcoming Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado, the Poker Players Alliance will be hosting a very special poker tournament. The event, which will take place on the club level of world famous Coors Field, is called "Poker at the Ballpark" and will attempt to raise money for the Paralyzed Veterans of America (www.pva.org). Already scheduled to play in this important event are Ben Affleck, Andy Bloch, and PokerRoad's big papa, Barry Greenstein.

The "Poker at the Ballpark" tournament will take place on Tuesday, August 26th, at 10 pm, right after a special VIP reception. Seats to play in the event begin at $500 with numerous different sponsorship packages available. For more information head to http://www.theheraldgroup.com/ppa.

The grand prize for the tournament will be a seat into the 2009 World Series Of Poker Main Event, but that's really not what it's about. As former Senator Alfonse D'Amato so aptly put it:

"This is a great opportunity to harness the popularity of the game of poker in order to raise much needed funds for those who have fought to protect our country and our individual freedoms - paralyzed vets."
-Alfonse D'Amato, PPA Press Release
