APT Macau Kicks Off
August 29, 2021
The second stop of the Asian Poker Tour began in Macau yesterday, with a Day 1a that saw many marquee players take to their seats, including Doyle and Todd Brunson, David "Chino" Rheem, J.C. Tran, Liz Lieu, Quinn Do, Nam Le, Carter Gill, David Saab and Johnny Chan. In the rough day of play that saw 103 players get knocked down to 23, only one of that group survived, Californian Carter Gill, who not only was responsible for busting Johnny Chan but also held the chip lead for a good chunk of the day. Gill eventually lost the lead but still ended the day in a very respectable position. His 97,300 in tournament chips were good for second place overall.
