Final Table Set In Council Bluffs

With much of the poker world focused on Los Angeles for the WPT L.A. Poker Classic, it's easy to overlook another major tournament happening halfway across the country, just outside of Omaha, Nebraska- the World Series of Poker Circuit Championship Event- Council Bluffs.

This $5,150 buy-in event began on Monday, with 67 entrants and a total prize pool worth $309,100.  The event is boasting a top prize of $113,020, plus a WSOP circuit ring and entry into the WSOP Main Event (to take place in Las Vegas later this summer).

After two previous days of play, the Council Bluffs Main Event is already down to the final nine players, a group that includes among others Jeff "Mr. Rain" Banghart, Ari "BodogAri" Engel and amateur player John McDonald, who is currently sitting on a huge stack that holds nearly a third of the total chips in play.
