| Mark Seif vs. Todd Witteles? |
| On October 25th, Mark Seif stopped by the RawVegas office to shoot a video in which he talked about, among other things, his feelings regarding the Absolute Poker “super account” scandal. While some have criticized Seif for his “naïve take” on the aforementioned debacle, it seems that most folks are equally, if not more interested, in the statements he made regarding fellow poker pro Todd Witteles. So what was Seif’s beef with Mr. “Dan Druff?” Well, slander basically. In Seif’s opinion Witteles has been digitally hatin’ on him in the forums about a questionable hand history from February 15, 2006. According to sources, back in 2006 some in the online community accused Seif of playing on a “super account” in heads up matches. The matter, due to lack of evidence, faded quickly, but in light of recent “events,” Witteles and others decided to re-exam the allegations. After Seif, a former attorney, threatened lawsuits against his accusers, Witteles made his own trip to the Raw Vegas studios to present a rebuttal. In the video, “Dan Druff” raised several questions including: Why would Seif be so insulted about a hand history from 2006? Isn’t it understandable to have concerns following the recent scandals at Absolute? Well, when Seif promised to reveal the hand histories without further objection, Witteles seemed genuinely surprised…that is until Absolute Poker announced that the requested information, because it was “too old,” had already deleted them from the site’s system. Witteles had a hard time believing this, and argued that his laptop could hold every hand history ever dealt at Absolute Poker. We here at the Pokerazzi agree. It just doesn’t make sense for a company to not keep records just because something is over two years old. In the end, Witteles made a challenge to Seif to point out what exactly was slanderous about what was written about the Absolute spokesman on the forums. We’re still waiting for Seif’s rebuttal; so stay tuned to RawVegas.tv for more fireworks. |

| Joe Sebok vs. The Canadian Immigrations Commando? |
| It’s true folks, Joe Sebok was denied access into Canada. So, while all the other poker players were enjoying the scenic views of beautiful Niagara Falls, Sebok was sitting in a crappy hotel room on the US side of the border. Poor Joe. Well, if you’re wondering what happened, and why Mr. Sebok became the first player to ever bubble an international border, I was there and here’s the first-hand account. It all began the night before the WPT North American Poker Championship when Sebok, myself, and Bart Hanson (the host of PokerRoad Radio), while attempting to cross the US/Canada border, were called into the Canadian immigration office for a random check. When inside, a lady took all three passports and asked us the usual entering-a-foreign-country-questions: “Where will you be going in Canada?” “How much money do you have?” “Have you ever been denied access into Canada before?” Yada-yada-yada. |
|
The not-so-nice officer then called Sebok up to the counter alone, where she proceeded to ask him some more “personal” questions. “Sir, have you ever been arrested?” To which Sebok answered, “No, not since I’ve been an adult.” That seemed to be the end of it until the officer pointed out that Sebok in fact had been arrested for minor vandalism at the age of eighteen. Sebok, after remembering that he was arrested for a senior prank back in high school, apologized for the slip-up. But the Canadian Immigration Commando didn’t stop there…” Have you ever been arrested for anything in your adult life?” This time Sebok answered a little more carefully, “Not to my knowledge.” Then came the most bizarre question of all: ”So you have never been arrested for drug trafficking or smuggling illegal aliens across the border?” What!?!?!?! So, is Joe Sebok a drug-dealing, Spanish-speaking border coyote? No. But, due to a case of mistaken identity, is that what it says on his record? Yes. Which meant that until he cleared things up with the FBI, Canada wasn’t going to let him in the country. With no other options, Bart and I took Sebok back across the border. He contacted the FBI the next morning, only to be told that, while his record would be cleared, the whole process would take at least two to three months. Two months!?! EugeneToddBro, that sucks! |
Annette_15 vs. The Poker World? |
Yes, my friends, Annette “Annette_15” Obrestad is at yet another professional live final table! Will the 19 year old online phenom add another title to her growing roster? How can we not be pulling for her to take this one down too? Watch out boys…
Annette just won her first bracelet at the WSOPE in London and is leading the pack with over 700,000 chips at the PokerStars EPT in Dublin. The event started with 122 players and has a first place prize of €532,620. I’m sure the crowd was disappointed as local favorite Andy Black finished on the bubble, earning €30,630 for his efforts. The nine-handed final table starts Saturday, November 3rd, at 4pm Dublin time. Stay tuned to PokerNews.com for the coverage. I know I’ll be railing. |
