The ax has fallen! On December 10th, Bluff Magazine did what many expected and fired managing editor Chris "BluffMagCV" Vaughn aka the guy who sold his account to Sorel "Imper1um" Mizzi during the Sunday FullTilt tourney. While no one is surprised, opinion on the forums is definitely mixed. Some believe Bluff released Vaughn solely as a reaction to increased pressure from the media, while others contend the Mag had plans to can Vaughn all along, and were only waiting for the accusations to be confirmed. YET...still others argue that a simple demotion, and not a firing, would have sufficed.
Well enough of our uneducated opinions. Here's what Bluff had to say…
Bluff's Ian McKenzie wrote :
Bluff Media, publisher of Bluff Magazine, has made the decision to terminate Chris Vaughn as Managing Editor. In light of Chris' involvement, recently admitted facts and the feedback obtained from industry professionals, it became apparent that the credibility required to perform the job functions of Managing Editor of Bluff Magazine at our company's level of standards have become severely diminished. While we regret having to make this decision, we believe that it is the best alternative for all parties involved, including Chris, Bluff Media and the poker playing community at large. We wish Chris the best of luck.
The next statement comes from a twoplustwo.com post written by Bluff's Editor-in-Chief :
Chris was a good friend as well as a good employee for BLUFF. I worked with him closer than anyone else, and wish him nothing but the best. He is a good guy, who made a pretty major mistake. He understands the ramifications, and I don't think any one is more sorry that this whole incident happened then he is. I wish him the best, and hope he succeeds in all his future endeavors.

Maybe this will finally put this scandal to rest and everyone can move on. There's no news as to what Vaughn plans to do next, but the question still remains…when will people finally realize cheating isn't the way to go?
