Whirlwind Tour Continues...; Miami, FL
November 2, 2021
The whirlwind tour has most decidedly not slowed down for one second.  I'm writing this from Miami airport, as I wait for my flight to Grand Cayman.  I have some business stuff to handle there, so I am making this trip today.  Rough life, huh?! Drug my dead ass out of bed this morning in Vegas at 3am (!) to catch my super early flight here.  It seems like things are just moving faster and faster and there is always more to do these days.  Luckily for me, it is always good stuff to be attending to.  I truly love my life and I wouldn't have it any other way.  Well, maybe a little slower, but that's about it...haha...
I was actually in Vegas to shoot "Poker After Dark", which I was seriously stoked about.  I was always bummed that they had never invited me to come on the show, although I get it as I am always lacking that one huge major tournament victory.  Hopefully they will be excited about the episode though and invite me back soon.  I had an absolute blast and I would imagine that we had one of the more talkative tables for them.  The lineup was constructed of all announcers/media people and featured myself, Ali Nejad, Howard Lederer, Gabe Kaplan, Kara Scott, and Mark Gregorich.  I can't tell you how it ended up, of course, but it was good times and we got into some seriously disparate conversations.  All in all, great stuff, and I look forward to hopefully playing again soon.
Soooo, it'll be this trip that I'm on right now and then back to Vegas in a few days for all of the WSOP final table shenanigans.  I'll have a full slate as we'll be recording "PokerRoad Radio" episodes from 11/6-11/10 and I'll also be doing quite a bit of commentary for the Bluff final table show that UB is sponsoring, so look for that.  It's going to be a lot of talking, but definitely a lot of fun as well.
Speaking of the final table, can you guys believe the hand on last week's telecast where Ivey mucked his winning flush?  Just goes to show you that everyone is human, even big Phil himself, and we all overlook things sometimes.  Makes me feel a little better about missing a value bet here and there.  Haha.
Things should die down a bit after Vegas with Thanksgiving on the horizon.  I'm looking forward to trying to lay in my bed and do nothing as much as is humanly possible.  Knowing me though, that won't be very long.  I'm glad I have enough energy to make the Energizer bunny jealous, because truth be told I really need it.
tonight seems like a really good time to crack a corona and stick in "point break" -best idea i was given today/tonight
