Bay Area Bound!; San Francisco, CA

There are few things that I love in life more than coming back to San Francisco the few times that I get to each year. There is just something about making my way through the Oakland and Berkeley hills and driving over the Bay Bridge that just completely takes me back and drops me right into a million great memories of when I used to live here. I know it sounds uber cheesy, but it really is an amazing place and I miss it regularly since my move down to Los Angeles.

At some point, when all of the hecticness dies down from starting PokerRoad and playing so much poker on the actual road, I would definitely like to move back and buy a place in Marin, which is right above -and across- the Golden Gate Bridge. It's a sweet little town nestled into the hills and trees of the North Bay. It really is a sick place and I could see myself living there for quite some time once I slow down...if I ever do that is!

Anyway, had a great drive up from LA last night and got in about 2am, slipping into my friend's place in Noe Valley. There is something pure about barreling down the freeway late at night, listening to music, and just thinking. It seems like more and more I have less and less time to "just be" and think, which is a shame. Those are amazing times, when you can just be in the moment. Running, snowboarding down a mountain, hopefully when you're focused in a tournament, and sometimes driving while alone late at night, I can really get lost in my own thoughts and not think about anything that has happened in the past, or what might be headed for me in the future. I miss that. Poker Radio

I'm gonna hang here in SF for the weekend and visit with some old friends, probably have a few drinks and maybe if I'm lucky the sun will come out. Such is life here, where it is generally cold as can be regardless of the time of the year. Wasicka is going to be in town as well so I am going to see if I can get him to drink an Irish Car Bomb, or three. We'll see...

Then on Monday we've got the event at Bay 101, which is one of my favorite stops on the tour, so I am really fired up. I love coming back home and playing online poker, so hopefully I can make a little something happen here. I have generally done well in the past, cashing both times I have played this event, so maybe that bodes well for next week. Bring it!

peace,
J
