World Poker Finals, MY End of Day 1; Foxwoods, CT

I was so fired up to play some online poker when I came into Foxwoods last week. I had been working on the site like a mangy old dog for so long that I wasn't even sure of whether or not I could still play at all...haha...

I guess I should have taken my fate in the 5k event on Monday as a subtle hint of things to come: I managed to get into a pot with AA where I even flopped an Ace...and still lost. Grrrr...Joe smash! Joe hurt!

At any rate, I got off to my usual smashing start once again as I was able to run my stack up to about 85k, from our starting stack of 30k. It was all par for the course, as I was terrorizing my table and taking down pots left and right. Sadly for me though, it just couldn't last.

I locked up in a pot with Kyle Bowker where I held Q10 on a board of QJ9 9 Q, and thought I was absolutely golden. Clearly though, if you haven't already figure it out from the tone of this blog, I was most definitely not golden at all. We got it all in on the river and I was greeted by the sick sight of Kyle's pocket 9's, good for quads, and good for spanking me like a little bitch with my busted full house. Poker TV

That hand was good for dropping me down about 45k, and then I was unlucky enough to run my Queens into "Miami" John Cernuto's slowplayed Kings on a rag flop and turn. I wasn't able to get away from the hand as it's always tough for me to figure out if someone is making a play at me just because I am "Crazy Sebok" or they actually have a real hand. I guessed wrong and I was sent packing way too early, for having been chipleader for the first two hours of this event.

Eh, what can you do? You live by the aggressive sword and you must die by it sometimes...

Lucky for me though, I won the booby prize in this event...having to stay at Foxwoods for the duration of the tournament once I am busted! Oh well, I'm sure I will be able to find some suitable trouble to get myself into from here, just like I always do.

Holler at you kids soon...

peace,
J
