Another long day today, but with little to show for it again. I'm actually basically pretty happy with how I have been playing thus far at the Series though, so that's a good thing to build on. Haven't cashed yet, but I feel like it's a matter of time now...

I managed to grind for the first 5 levels or so today, never getting my chips above 6k before finally breaking through right before dinner. I had my stack up to 19k and was feeling great. I was playing well and was stoked. After dinner though, the wheels kinda fell off a little bit. I ended up raising in with 67 suited and got three callers, which made the pot about 8k -a huge pot pot for that point- but wasn't able to take it down. I flopped a gut shot on an ace-high board, and would normally just check fold a lot of the time, but with the Ace I felt like I really had to take a stab at it. I did so, but was raised and forced to lay it down. Might have been a mistake to bet at all... Poker Radio

Played a few more pots to no avail and ended up making a really terrible call with a paired Ace. I'm pretty irritated about it, as it was a definite bad call and lapse in concentration. I'll have to work harder at that, especially with all these marathon days and continual events. Gotta stay focused...

On the plus side, I am so fired up about the Cubs that outside of online poker that's all I can talk about. They are playing great and although it's early, they are looking like the team to beat right now. Of course, I am a Cubs fan, so I won't get overly optimistic until we get a little deeper in the season. Looking sick so far though! Go Cubs, Go!

peace,
J
