After much talk, and a very long summer of anticipation, PokerStars has finally released their downloadable version for the Mac. This version, currently still in the beta phase, is fully functioning for both play and real money games. No longer do the Mac faithful have to worry about running Virtual P.C., Parallels, Boot Camp, or the like, in order to play poker at the biggest cardroom on the net.

To download the new Mac compatible PokerStars software, your computer must match these minimum requirements as stated on the PokerStars website.

Mac OSX 10.4.10 or later

Minimum System Configuration:
? PowerPC G4 or G5 or Intel Mac
? 512MB RAM
? 1024x768 screen resolution or higher
? 60MB free disk space
? 56k dial-up Internet connection

Recommended system configuration:
? PowerPC G4 1Ghz or faster, PowerPC G5 or Intel Mac
? 1024MB RAM
? 1024x768 screen resolution or higher
? 100MB free disk space
? 128kbps or faster DSL or Cable Internet connection

Assuming your Mac can handle all that, then you\'re good to go. Just go to www.pokerstars.com and begin downloading the new software.

This is truly a great day for the poker loving Mac fan, as now the two biggest poker websites that accept American players, FullTilt Poker and PokerStars, both have native software available for the Mac.
