The 2008 Duplicate Poker World Championships have been announced at DuplicatePoker.com. This event is scheduled to run for a number of months, heading towards the championship final sometime this fall.

Duplicate Poker is a poker variant which attempts to remove the luck factor by using an in-common deck for all the tables. In other words, if you are dealt an ace-five of hearts for example, you can be sure that one person at every other table in the tournament has been dealt that exact hand as well and you will be ranked according to how well you play it compared to everyone else.

Duplicate Poker is considered a "skill game" and is therefore seen as legal to play in most U.S. jurisdictions.
